Kitchen and bathroom budgets depend on how much changes, what you choose and what the property needs. Use the published regional examples below for context, then request a quote for your Pompano Beach project.

A project may fall outside those examples. Ask a provider to assess the room and give you a written price for the actual work, including what is excluded.

Kitchen budget: refresh or redesign?

For a kitchen remodel, distinguish the cabinet and countertop purchase from the finished-room total. Check removal, installation, appliances, trade work, backsplash and repairs around retained finishes.

If you want to move appliances or change the room’s openings, ask for that option to be priced separately from a plan that keeps the arrangement. That comparison helps you decide whether the extra change matters enough to you. It does not assume that either option is right for every home.

Treat allowances as unfinished selections. An allowance is an amount included for an item that has not been fully chosen. Ask what it covers, how the final cost is calculated and whether extra labor could follow from a different selection.

Bathroom and shower budgets are different

A full bathroom renovation may include the vanity, lighting, floor and room finishes alongside the bathing area. A shower replacement or tub conversion may leave those other items in place. Do not use a full-bathroom range as the price of a shower-only project.

When comparing shower proposals, identify removal, preparation, the complete shower system, plumbing, enclosure and adjacent repairs. If one proposal excludes the finishing work, the two totals do not yet describe the same result.

For an excluded item, ask who will arrange it and whether you need a separate price. Keep those costs beside the proposal so you can compare the overall project, not just the largest invoice.

Condo access and work you cannot see yet

Existing conditions can change what is needed after removal. Agree how the contractor will explain a finding, price additional work and obtain your decision. Avoid assuming an unseen problem exists, or that no extra work will ever be needed.

Pompano Beach’s housing plan documents older owner-occupied housing and large multi-unit buildings. Those patterns support asking about retained finishes and shared access; they do not justify adding a standard “Pompano surcharge.” Use the condo checklist for building arrangements.

Payments and changes to the plan

Before hiring, agree the payment stages, how a change is approved and how unfinished or incorrect items will be addressed. Keep product selections, drawings, written changes and receipts together. Verify the contractor and business using the resources in the permit and contractor guide.

Request a Remodeling Quote for your actual room. You can enquire without a final budget. If you do have a budget in mind, discuss what work it should cover rather than treating a published range as a fixed package.
